1979 Toyota Pick Up with over 500,000miles.
I am always looking for parts.
right now I need a frame part..the cross member behind the rear axle, with the knuckle&chain that holds the spare tire...the drivers side finally corroded thru & the spare dropped down almost hitting the street...this part has to be in good shape..so I can weld it in place of the other..
the rest of the frame has been wrapped front to back in plate so it is in good shape..

I'm sure if you post your location somebody will be able to help you out, but first, spill the details about your truck! What has it been like, getting all the way to half a million? What other work have you had to do?

1979 toyota pick-up
need to upload a photo
it has been a wild ride
floor board has been rebuilt 2 times
on my 2nd windshield
3 head gaskets
oil changed every 2k...you do the math
was painted green around about 1990
along with a wood deck replacement
I have had the same mechanic on this lovely Lady since she came off the carrier in 1979 where she was purchased new by my Dad.
The frame has been rebuilt/wrapped in plate front to back,
this was crucial since it would have snapped in 1/2 long long ago...
I need new doors and my replacement front fenders are ready to go also..
other than that its a dank cherry
will upload a photo
thanks for writing

Sounds awesome! I remember my dad sold his 79 2wd to the bone yard around 1990, he bought a new Cherokee with a 4.0 and a 5spd and never drove it. He bought it new and the only problems it had were a rusty wheel well, and no floor boards, I think they gave him $50 cash for it!!! I wish I would have been old enough to keep it around back then.... Id love to see some pics of your beast!

Yup that looks a lot like my parents old 79, I should dig out some pictures of it! It was yellow, at one point my dad repaired some rust issues along the lower body and bed and masked it off, painted the lower 10" or so black, it looked factory for another few years then rusted back out
