Front driveline mods?

I lifted my truck around 7 inches to clear 35s, i used 4 inch springs and 3 inch shackles. Now my front driveline binds. Ive heard several different opinions on how it can be modified to work but i want to do it right. Its a 1979 toyota. Any insight would be truly appreciated, thanks.

4" spring + 3" (over stock) shackle = 5.5" lift

Binds how - at normal height, or droop?

What's the rest of your setup?

Generally your options depending on how it's binding:
- modify the double cardan joint
- cut/rotate the knuckles to aim the pinion at the tcase and reset the caster
- go to double tcases
- switch to high pinion diff
- lower the lift
- combinations of the above

hey ian i have a 79 also 4 sale now thoe but i got it in 2000 and i lifted just like u but in 2002 n e ways the stock drive shaft would come off every time the trucked flexed (especially when i had to slam on the brakes in traffic) the truck would go down then it would catch the ends of the drive shafts id have to get under the truck and kick them apart. so i took it to a drive shaft place and he extended it 4 me maybe 3 inches but not sure how long! never had a problem since then thoe. hope this helps let me know if i can take a measurement or somethin.

you'll need to lengthen your front drive shaft .. chances are , if you havent done so , your running on limited splines
