Late model intake swap - 22re

Just did the late model intake swap on my 86 4runner with a built up engine.

All in all this swap is freaking sweet, made a huge difference in my particular application. Also eliminated more hoses and the retarded air valve that was malfunctioning.

Definitely worth while........and really easy!

BEFORE:

AFTER (ignore the nasty paint from the previous owner of the intake. I cleaned the inside but not much on the outside yet)

eliminates air valve, better intake flow from angle and from egr passage in older intake manifold which partially blocks air flow.

To bring up an old thread...

I'm gonna try and track down the parts for this swap, and found this write up:
http://siestaoffroad.com/tbody.html

It mentions something about the Cold start injector but no real details.....is that something to be aware of?

I'll order the gaskets (3) that are listed....anything else to get before tearing into it?

Thanks

I think what he's alluding to is that the cold start injector on the old plenum won't fit on the new one. Unconfirmed though.

that's what I was thinking....so one would need to get the cold start injector from the donor truck. Seems odd that the person doing the write up would not know if that needed to be done or would leave that step out.
