94 runner needs rear brakes?

I just replaced the front pads and rotors and have never did the rear drum brakes. I bought the truck used so there is no telling what they look like, and my emergency brake barely works. My braked work fine, just would like to have the extra stopping power to not put as much stress on the front. Do drum brakes wear out?? give me some infoooo thanks

Put the back on jack stands, take both drums off. keeping one side togher as a refrence, replace the shoes on the other side. Once complete, do the "refrence" side using the completed side as your template.

Yes rear brakes wear out.
