Im a Newbie. lol HEAD GASKET...

I have known about yotatech for a few years now and am always on it...so i figured I would Create an account...(Sorry if I posted in the wrong place lol) I have an 88 Pickup 2.4 efi dlx, and I noticed a few months back my coolant was being sucked up Excessively and had to refill it over and over again...So I myself replaced the heater core and therrmostat hoping it wasnt a head gasket...DIDNT WORK...So I got the gasket set and took my engine apart Etc...Replaced the gaskets and while putting the intake manifold on I cracked off one of the bolts in the block (ahhh) Me being my dumb self said screw it ill leave it in "it looks like its holding"...so I kept going and going...Turns out my timing chain slipped a tooth off...So im stuck here trying to time it by moving the rotor in my distributor...Hasnt worked...Im wandering if one of my vacuum lines is mixed up with another..Im a senior in highschool and I dont have the money to take it to a shop!..So an advice would help...Thank you

Hey, welcome to YotaTech. Starting off with a good one I see. To be honest, you're best bet is to pull the valve cover and get the chain back on correctly. I'd reccomend just doing a whole t-chain kit if you're able to.

In regards to your vacuum line question, here's a link to look at so you can double check yourself.

Good luck!

Dito on that, yer off one tooth i bet. And as Agent said replace the T chain if you have to. When the valve cover is off get a flashlight n look real good down chain n check guides. good luck If ya stuck i am close i'll help if i can, besides ya got a red truck.
