Changing from 16" Wheel to a 15"? What do i need to know??

I am in bad need of replacing my Tires and was in the same boat as a lot of people looking for 33x10.5 on a 16 which i cant seem to find. SO If i decided to switch to a 15" rim, what exactly would that entail? Does it throw anything important off in any other aspects??? I am thinking this would be easier so i can get the size i want and not have it be a problem after that. Any advice?????

Not sure what rig you have. but I dont think 15 inch wheels will fit on 3rd gen 4runners or tacos. Somebody correct me if im wrong.

The trucks with 16" rims say 15" for reference. However, if your truck came with 16" rims from the factory (VIN will tell you that) then you cannot bolt on 15" rims.

Would would have to downsize the calipers and rotors, which will also reduce breaking power.

yeah 99 and up tacomas made their calipers bigger in which the inside edge of the steel rims will not clear the caliper, while the same edge of allow or aluminum rims will clear it.. you can always just get a smaller backspacing like 2-3 inches and some wheel spacers and then you will clear the caliper no problem.

Look at wheelersoffroad.com for 15 inch wheel options to fit 3rd gens or tacos. Also you could keep your wheels and go to a 255/85r16 tire. (33.4x 10"wide) This is a great sized tire for our rigs
