22RE Oil Burning Question

I have just recently bought a 93' pickup 22re and has 151,000 miles on it, the truck runs excelent with the exception of a light tap from the lifters. Its getting about 16 mpg at its best and burns oil. I looked just inside throttle body and there was a pretty thick film of oil residue built up in it. Im assuming thats where my mpg i going. But what im unsure is how the oil is getting in the throttle body my best guess is that the pcv is somehow letting oil in when I pulled the hose off i notice some oil in the hose. I would really appreciate the help if you have any theories.

I would bet on the pcv, and i would run some seafoam through the engine, and welcome to yotatech. Do a search for seafoam on here and that will help you out.

I agree the PCV valve is likely. Seafoam is good stuff too.
