1985 LN61 4runner rear brakes
I've just intalled a diff lock in the rear of the beast, new wheel bearings, diff pinion seal, brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Trouble I'm having though is the brakes keep frigging dragging. Handbrake off, adjust up the brakes so wheel is nice and free with no drag, take it for a short drive, use the handbrake a few times, jack it back up, brakes are dragging. This is really giving me the willies cause I've just had a heap of trouble getting the air out of the system, finally get that, and now this bs. I don't understand it, it seems like the self adjusters are adjusting up a notch whenever I use the handbrake, but not releasing enough to come off the drum.
Anyone got good experience with this setup? Anyone good for a method of adjusting rear brakes, handbrake cables and handbrake lever stop screws? That'd be really quite cool.
Thanks! By the way as long as I don't use the handbrake the brakes won't drag after adjusting.
