Question just ordered new tires!! White lettering in or out, thats the question!

I just ordered a new set of tires from Discounttiredirect, they have a black Friday deal today, $50 off your order so with their free shipping I got a set of LT235/75-15's for $338 shipped! I was going to go up to a 31" but really cant justify the price difference since I don't need the ground clearance. Anyway, what are your thoughts on white lettering, in or out? I had it facing out on my Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos that have been on there for the last 5 years and was thinking about flipping it with the Yokos, I hope they hold up OK, the Revos have been great tires, but with just under 50,000 mile on them they are right at the tread bars, not too shabby since Ive never really rotated them on schedule

personally, I think it looks like crap with white walls out, unless your rig is white and then it will somewhat match it. but if you havent tried putting the black out before then i think you should try that. I think it looks so much cleaner IMO

I don't like white walls facing out, but I like white lettering facing out.

I have the white lettering out on my 31" BFG's. Had the black out with the same tires on my Runner, put white out when I switched them onto my pickup, I like it better.

No friggin kidding, genius. Just stating an opinion about white walls vs. white lettering, hence the pictures of white lettering.

Still not quite as good an idea as painting the damn letters red??? "Are you friggin serious??"

At least you are cool enough to know how to put really cool icons next to your posts.

Depends on the tires. If they're something to be proud of (like Revos), I say white lettering out.

White lettering looks great when new but they are a pain to keep clean and after a few years most lettering looks like ass.

White in. Currently white is out, but the letters are ruined from rocks, so white's going in forever next mounting.

If you don't take super good care of them, the white lettering will start to deteriorate and fall apart and it will look like crap. If you do any kind of wheeling it will fall apart in no time and will look like junk. I work at a tire store so trust me. Black letters out. And tire shine looks like junk too.

Hey 1st gen ... are there any products that can be used to cover up blemishes in sidewalls? I've got a few small cuts that also look like crap and would be nice to mask them a bit.

As far as I know, there is nothing out there. You could either flip them to the black side, or you could tape off the white lettering and spray paint the sidewalls. It won't fill the gashes, but at least they won't be white and look like junk. Spray paint doesn't damage tires trust me. Those are the only 2 things I know of.

Thanks Man. I had asked as I have new tires coming and wanted to clean these up a bit before I sell them. The new buyer will be installing white walls in and the black side is like new.
