I guess I should tell you somthing about it. I got away with minimal machine work just ball honed the cylinders and rebuilt the head with stainless valves. instaled an LCE cam and putit back together. spent alot of time cleaning and painting. at the moment I am just collecting parts so when it goes back in the shop I can realy move foward. more pics soon.

I regret not taking any pics befor I tore It down but to late now. most of you probly would have not considered this thing much of a parts truck to start with but I hope to make it somthing that I can be proud of, and somthing that will hang with the best of ya. more pics when there is somthing to take a pic of.

Im no bodyman I dont even play one on TV. this is my first try at this so Im sure its not being done correct but Im not after show quality just rust removel. I am cutting repair panels out of the old hood to fix as much as I can, but the passenger side quarter is gonna need more than I can make, I would like to replace the whole pannel I think that would be the easiest. If anyone knows a company that stamps them I would apreciate it. still slow going but thanks for checking in

Starting Over

Okey, Okey !!!!! I get it my thread is boring.... So I would like to take this oppertunity to start over. First a brief history.
I have had my 4runner now for 4 years. It was a bitrthday gift from my wife and kids. It ran great but leaked more oil then the Exon Valdez.I rattlecan painted it throw on a set of freebee chrome wheels, and a new set of maxes mudders. Then drove the weee out of it until the clutch gave up on it or me still not sure which.
After much consideration I decided to rebuild what I had instead of purchursing something else.
So now to the plain.
This will be pretty much a straight forward 4runner build. Fix the body, rebuild the enigine, SAS, dual Tcases, lockers front and rear, 35 inch tires, custom rear bumper with swing out tire carrier, custom front bumper with winch mount, custom roof mount light bar, custom binkni top, and the list goes on........
Purpose ......
To have a well rounded, clean, comfortable, capable, trail rig / scond vihicle.
I have started this thread in hopes of finding advice and help. There is alot to do and thou I do know how to do some of it, it would be nice to be able to know that I am not the only one out here doing this myself since the friends and the family that I have seem to think that I am just plain crazy. If you see me starting to make a mistake or you know a better way that works even better please do not hesate to tell me.

To change pace from just doing body work I have started on my rear bumper.

Sorry for the crappy pic I had to take it with my phone. I will put more pic's when I find my camera. But I was proud of how it turned out and hoped that the work I had done was close to what others are doing or had done and my 3 year old grandson gave three thumbs up and my son thought that it was awesome. Now that is hard to get out of an 18 year old.
Alittle bit about it, started with 2x4 box tubing, pie cut the ends, notched the center for the receiver hitch and welled on 2 heavy duty D rings. As soon as the rest of the tubing shows up I will get started on the tire carrier. More pic's comeing...
