4x4 engaging by itself?

Hi guys.....i have a 1991 Toyota pickup V6 with an auto tranny.....this just started last night, when i start moving in 2wd i hear a clicking kinda noise, its the same click that the truck makes when the green 4x4 light comes on. anyways, it does this while i drive and it sounds like its trying to go into 4wd........then when i put it in 4x4 everything is fine ? :S......could this just be some sorta wireing problem?.........i recently fried my ecu and had it replace and i havent done any muddin for 2 months. if that helps.

anything would be much appreciated
thanks

I am pretty sure that clicking you are hear when you shift into 4 wheel normally is just a relay for the ADD system. So really I would say that the clicking you have going on could be any relay under the dash. That is just my idea. Take it for what it's worth. I would definitely say it is a wiring or a switch issue though.

Check your CV axle as well. Those click when they go also.
