Stock 92 4Runner get's us out of a sticky situation

So yesterday,on the way to my friends for dinner me and my friend Sean are in his 92 4runner.

There's a canal off of Freeport blvd we've been to a few times last summer, and we heard it got muddy in the winter so we went to go check it out.

We get there and the canal has 2.5-3ft of water in it.Theres a road that leads down it and back up the other side.

We put her in 4high,and go for it.

We make it through the water, and start up the other side.

The truck begins to slide to the right, towards a 5 foot drop into the canal.

The tires keep slipping.Truck is perched on the side of this road, and I can feel it begin to flip.It tell sean we have no other choice but to crank the wheel to the right and go into the deeper part of the canal or we're going to flip.

So we slide down into the gumbo and end up like this:

Those are our tire marks as we slid off the side.

thinking we're stuck and doomed,we crawl out and I lose my shoe in the mud so I have to go back and get it.

We think it over and go "Hell. Not like we can make things worse.Let's try and get it out."

After 10 mins of rocking it back and forth with the pedal to the floor, lots of yelling, and a motor stall we're out.

Those are bald 31x10.50 BFG All terrains.

I'm sold on toyota. My friend with a jeep on 37's that came to help us out couldn't believe we got out.

Just wanted to share.Exciting/stressful day.

That was the shallow part, and we had to go back through the deep part where the front tires were completely underwater.

Hey,

we still made it to dinner.

My friend originally wanted to sell the 4runner and buy something lifted and locked already.

This convinced him he'll do fine with 33x10.50 km2's and a locker in the rear.
