found it ! NO! 2nd gen mounting holes for the caliper are different then 3rd gen.
at least thats what i just read. i may have to go up to the store and see for myself
but thats what ive got so far

just went up to the parts store caliper mounting holes for 2nd gen 4runner are 3 1/2 apart center to center tundra 199 231 caliper mounting holes are 4 1/2 apart
so this mod will not work for 2nd gens

hmm... read more into it and find out for sure. I just heard 199s fit on a 2nd gen. do you have the link to where you just read that?

I read somewhrs a long while back, yes on the 3rd gens. No on the 2nd without sereious modification.

And really, what is worng with our front disc brakes? If you are that worried about breaking power go to full float rear and convert the rear to disc as well...

There are, however, two different model calipers on the V6 2nd gen 4Runners. The S12W caliper is the small one, and the S13W is the large one. The S13W uses a wider, thicker rotor and I believe is also what most (if not all) T100's used.

You might look at the letters in the casting of your current calipers and see if you can make that upgrade at least.
