I own a 97 4Runner, SR5, Manual and my tranny's on it way out wanted a 6 speed in it, was wondering if any one out there knows if its possible to put an 2005 and up 6 speed transmission from a Toyota Tacoma into a 3rd gen 4runner? or any type of 6 speed transmission in there? my main goal is just to have tighter quicker shifting with more easy, I was thinking of getting a TRD racing Clutch but my buddy told me i will probably blow my fly wheel with a racing cluch and a stock fly wheel.

 

Check out the heavy duty clutch kit from Marlin Crawler. Not a exactly a racing clucth but still a nice upgrade over stock and MUCH cheaper

 

ya i got the TRD racing clutch in it now. just wanted to know if i could put a 6 speed in there
