I am trying to buy shocks for a 2003 toyota Hilux 4x4 -4 door- Here's my problem...

I am in Costa Rica. Shocks here are hard to find and when you do find them they are at least double the price in the states. My wife is headed back to the states and I want her to bring me a set of shocks back. The Hilux is obviously not sold in the States so I am trying to find out if a tacoma shock will work on a hilux. Or a part # for monroe or rancho shocks that works for a hilux.

Is your front suspension Coilover? Or Torsion bar?

 

it is torsion bar because I don't see any springs up there.....

 

Well if you are 100% certain it has a torsion bar setup, you can order parts from 86-95 trucks/4Runners, which used a Torsion bar setup in America

 

The shocks have a stud on the top of them where they mount...... I don't know much about suspension but doesn't a coil-over have a spring around the shock? There is definitely no spring around the shocks......
