This is just 2 cans of and about $14 of Rustoleum paint (cheapest powdercoat i found was $50 per rim). I've used this paint before on three diff sets of rims and all lasted well over a year w/o chips till I sold the rigs. Count on about 5hrs of work (taking off, prepping, painting, back on). Had to pound the pinch weld to clear the tiers and now speedo is about 4mi over according to my GPS, didn't really notice loss of power up mountain passes or increased breaking distance. Have not yet checked milage drop.

I liked the cane. Really hard to find a good breeder though. Atleast in my neck of the woods in the midwest.

 

wow, 255 tires on 8" wide rims, my local tire shop won't do it so i had to buy 265 tires instead.

guess i have to paint mine too.

 

BAMF, wow...big puppy! English mastif? Borabel? Agreed on finding a good breeder, after months of research I still ended up unhappy in the end (not about Lucy but the way the breeder handled the health guarantee).

TC4RNR, not my choice of brand or size, me and a buddy swapped rims and tires. I'd prolly go wider and lower? I don't know, like the look and the way it fills out the wells more (especially with the ltd flares) but i did have 275/70s on a diff set of LC rims I ran a while back and with those I did notice all the adverse effects of a bigger tire. I like the 8" rim though....

this is mine but too bad i have to use spacers because they wont clear the tundra brakes. tires are Hankook Dynapro AT'M 265/75

 

TC, your sig block makes me drool with envy! How thick of a spacer? Are you happy with the tire size or want to go bigger? I thought that the 265/75 with a lift would look too small but yours looks spot on.

 

i'd probably won't need the spacers if i didn't swap out the tundra brakes. i have 1" spacers and that's plenty. if i can get my hands on a good lathe, i'd turn it down another 1/4"

 

Thought about running spacers (for the look) but after paying $360 (only $70 was labor) to replace ONE rear wheel bearing I do NOT want to shorten their life by a day! Hope with a one or two size bigger tire I won't NEED the bigger breaks. I don't do any towing though...........

Michalik_piotr, the dog really caps off the theme! Great looking ride man. I'm going to be painting my OE's Black this weekend, what type of Rustoleum did you use?

 

Thanks for the tip, and once I'm down in GA I'll have access to a shop ( I worked w/ for 2 years) that has a tire machine so I can dismount the tires to make things a bit easier.
