Question Problem with 1993 4-Runner (won't start)

I was helping my buddy tune-up his 1993 4-Runner (3.0 V6 EFI)

We swapped his plugs and wires (he didn't initially change the cap and rotor).

He tried to start the truck but no dice!! I checked the coil wire and it didnt' spark against a screwdriver.

We replaced the coil and it still won't start.

What's next??

I think he is going to replace the distributor. Someone suggested that it might be the camshaft position sensor inside the distributor.

Please advise.

BTW: I have a 2002 Tacoma 4x4 TRD. Loving it!!
