How wide can my tires be with my rims
#1
i was just wondering if i could fit a 12.5"wide tire on a 7 inch wide rim i currently have 10.5" and they fit fine but when i buy my 33's soon should i go 10.5 or 12.5

Most manufacturers suggest a rim size od 8" to 10" depending. I have 33x12.5/15 on the factory 15x7" alloys..

I should add that because of the factory backspacing it rubs somewhat and you HAVE to run a lower PSI to keep a flat even wear pattern, which also kisl MPG!

General rule of thumb is tire width up to about 4-1/2" more than rim width for good on- and off-road performance. A little wider is OK for off-road only, but you may find increased tire wear on-road. I've run 33x10.50s on stock 6" steel rims with good results, but do get a little increased tread wear in the center of the tire where it wants to bulge up from the narrow rim.
