OK, this is as much as I could get together for a ride report from my 10/5/03 Paragon run. I'm still trying to gather up info, but I doubt it will get much better than this.

The 10/5 Paragon run was not my first trip to Paragon, but it was the first time I had gone for the monthly trail ride. I wasn't expecting much... all I could picture was chaos at the staging area and huge groups running into each other on the trails. Let me tell you - Paragon has their ˟˟˟˟ in order. What a great day it turned out to be. Our guide (Bill) was excellent, and kept us on good trails the entire time. We had a good sized group of about 9 rigs. We had a bunch of Wranglers, a couple Cherokees, a stock Xterra, a stock H2, and my 4Runner.

We ran several really good trails. I didn't get the names of all of them, I know we did do Foundations, Valley Road, Upper Blueberry, Impossibly Hill Trail, and the Campground Trail. I decided that the trail ratings don't mean a heck of a lot though. Last time I was at the park we ran some blue 2 trails that were rather easy. But Bill took us on some green 2s (supposedly much easier than blue 2s) that were pretty killer. Very rocky, I wacked my diffs a few times and beat the snot out of my sliders.

It was a great time. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home, so I didn't get any pictures of my own. I've managed to scrap together a few that were taken by other people in the group.

Hopefully people will be able to go.

 

As you know from our PMs... I'm still iffy about the weekend. Are you able to go on Saturday? Gordo from the paragon board sounds like he knows his way around the park pretty well. Might be good to hook up with his group rather than wander around the park like a couple of idiots trying to find decent trails.

 

I know, I'm just being a pain in the @ss. Saturday is looking good. I'm going to take Friday off from work, get some camping gear together, and leave in the late afternoon when my buddy gets out of work. Id rather not wander around the park like an idiot so, I may have to jump in on that paragon thread. I know last time you just went for the day, but did you camp on your first visit?
