I'm helping a friend fix his 87 22r. We took the head off, and are taking it to a Machine Shop to work on.

It looks like the motor was previously rebuilt.

I'm sure the Machine Shop can see if the head was shaved?

How would they know, is there a measurement that the machine shop can use?

Would they measure from the valve cover face to the block face on the head?

Anyone know how much this measurement is?

The truck is a 22r with a carborated engine.
