other body parts that fit

hmmm, first off, my local pick and pull sucks balls. 2 toyota trucks on the whole lot, neither of them 4x4, only 1 in my gen. and even better they have no chevy 63" springs at all. nada none zilch.

so here would be my technical question of the day. the bed is missing from the 1 truck in PnP along with the springs and the gears from the rearend. but the cab is intact. how indepth is a cab swap, the cab is in real good shape, almost no rust anywhere on it. i would like to change it out, but i think it is really indepth, or maybe just time consuming?

next part of the question is, there is a 93 on the lot with an impressive bed on it. real good shape couple of dings, but no rust spots. will this bed bolt onto my 84 4x4 truck? i did notice that the only difference seems to be the gas filler hole and the bed is more rounded, but at first look, the mounts look to be in the right place.

the other thing that i noticed is that, there is an 89 mazda on the lot that looks ALOT like the toyota of the day. would it be possible to get that bed over onto mine? mine is in real rough shape. and looking for a relatively cheap replacement and they seem to be scarce.

right now i have 1 mod in work, and that is the chevy swing swap, i have the brackets, waiting for extra cash for the weld job. still looking for decent set of springs, may have found some finally, but definitly looking for the swap esp in the front, as the front is sooooo hard, the springs are totally flat. that and getting rid of the 60mph vibration, and i will be more than happy with my truck. the easist way to explain the vibration is that when i am over 60mph in 4th or 5th gear (don't go that fast in 3rd) when you look in the rearview mirror lights from vehicles behind me look like little circles in the mirror. i am slowly replaceing every bushing in the front end one set at a time, i have already changed the front springs, track bar (sway bar, would have to look it up to remember what it is called.) bushings. i have done fluid changes, on front and rear diff, and tranny, don't know if xfer case is the same as tranny, or have to drain and refill separate from tranny, changed both rear u joints. looking at fronts this weekend.

anyone have any info for me? going to be up all night at work today, woo hoo

You might consider replacing the front and rear wheel bearings, if there bad they can cause a vibration. The transfer case is seperate from the trans, there is a drain plug and a fill plug on the fransfer case.

The cab swap really isn't that hard just a little time consuming. And as for the beds I'm not so sure if the mounts line up but if they don't you can cut them off and weld them where ever they need to be.
