I was wondering if anyone has done an upgrade to the side mirrors. I bought my 86 4runner about 1 month ago, but i hate the tiny side view mirrors. Is there a swap or retro fit that we can do to get bigger mirrors, or even a set of power mirrors. I have searched here but i have not found anything

I realized this is a dead thread, but I've searched around and this is the most relevant topic that I could find...

Does anyone know if the Hilux found in other parts of the world came with larger side mirrors as an option? I ask because I was watching a video from africa.nickandjoanne.com (cool website and trip)...and I noticed that the side mirrors on their are twice the size of the mirrors on 1st gen 4runners, and it looks completely stock & interchangable with the style I have. Appears to be the exact same mounting.

Let me know because I've been trying to source bigger mirrors for our trip thru Central & South America. I'm really not a fan of the "trucker look" in the pics above so I'm trying to avoid those mirrors.

 

yeah thats an ugly look n i bought new ones from a parts store n they suck too. They still are little and vibrate down all the time
