Pulling front axles on 2008 Tundra

Small leak on my 08 Tundra..its the seal in the passenger side axle tube.Pulled the CV unit from the outside and couldn't figure out how the rest came away from the gear housing, my buddys F-150 just pulled out with minimal effort.Anyone have the answer to this minor delay in my progress, I assume there is a simple solution that involves leaving all the CV boots in tact and pulling then entire assembly.Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
