92 clutch issue

92 clutch issue
hey guys i have a 92 pickup with the 5vzfe swap in it, which is running fine. however my clutch is doing something that i have no idea why. so lets say im sitting there, truck is on im ready to start moving, buttt i put my clutch in ready to go into first or reverse, and my rpm drops to around the point of 200-300 rpm, and if i hold it a little longer, it just stalls, and i have absolutely no ideea why it does that, because the clutch and all is in great shape, so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Does it lurch, too, or just rpm drop? Almost sounds like the clutch isn't completely disengaging. Are the master & release cylinder in good shape, not leaking, fluid full? Clutch pedal adjusted correctly?

no it doesnt, i simply just put the clutch in (when im not moving) and the rpm drops verry low, and if held long enough (which isnt very long) it will stall, it seems to be better when the truck is warmed up.

Crazy.
Only when the clutch is in though, not if you're just idling, in nuetral? What if you're in neutral with the clutch in? So does it always happen when the clutch is pushed in, or only if you're in gear with the clutch in? The clutch on this vehicle doesn't work with vaccum at all does it? Sorry I really only know the older trucks. As far as I know you've got not vaccum working with the clutch, so it's not like when the brake booster goes bad and the truck stalls when you hit the brakes.
Hopefully somebody else has some ideas. I've never run into this before, I'm mostly just trying to rule things out and get it narrowed down...

Boy that really is odd. Yeah if it's a hydraulic clutch it's a totally closed system...pedal pushes the master cylinder forcing fluid towards the release cylinder, pushes out the rod at the release cylinder and pushes the throwout bearing into the clutch. That's why all I can think of is that there's something with the clutch not disengaging fully, but I don't get why that would still cause a drop in idle when you're in neutral...
That's about all I can help with. The only advice I can give you is to either take it to a mechanic, or replace the master and release cylinders and see if that helps. When my master cylinder was going out, the clutch did some WEIRD things. So who knows maybe that could be it. Make sure neither are leaking at all. If you feel like throwing money at something that may or may not fix it...master and release cylinders. They aren't too expensive.

ya its wierd..however! it seems to be doing good lately, it hasnt done it in a bit, weve cleaned the throttle body and messed with the idle screw, but i doubt its completely solved yet. thanks for help though!
