How do I go about removing the trim around the tailgate rear window? I have some surface rust starting around the edges of the window and am hoping to take care of it this week end.

 

Did you manage to get everything apart? I am starting the same thing on my 4Runner, and did manage to get all the trim off. Looks like the trim was glued in once upon a time. Has anyone else glued in the trim for the tailgate? Specifically the rubber piece with a metal band inside.
