Newb here, just picked up a 94 4Runner, have a couple ?s
Hey guys, I just picked up a 94 4runner with 113k on it. Just had a few questions..
1. When the gas tank is filled up all the way, I can smell gas OUTSIDE the truck until it hits about 1/4 tank. Its not a BIG deal but the truck cannot be stored in the garage due to the smell. There is no smell inside the truck nor can I see any leaks/holes. Any ideas?
2. The previous owner took out the rear speakers and told me that there was a powered amp in the rear that if I just hooked up some subs it would sound great, as this is what he did. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, can anyone give me some specs of this amp?
3. I have the Toyota front brush guard on the truck as well. I would like to mount some lights on it. It seems that the previous owner mounted his lights horizontally. Would this be ok since the holes are already there? Or how are you guys mounting your lights?
Overall, I really have only driven the truck 1-2 times but I already like it a lot. It has full leather on the inside and it also has the V6. I bought it to run in the winter and park my car over the winter to prevent rust from forming anymore. Wisconsin winters suck (not as bad as some of you guys' winters on here though). I'll post up some pics as soon as I snap some.

I don't think there was a power amp in the back from factory. Someone has added it.
The gas smell could be lots of things. Bad gas cap, EVAP system not hooked up or working properly, leaking fuel sender/fuel pump unit. You will have to track it down with your nose.
As for lights, do what you want or what you need.

No factory amp in my 94. It did have tweets above the back window that sound decent though along with speakers in the rear cargo area. When I went aftermarket I could not find the stock wiring for the tweets so I just rewired them bridged to the rear cargo speakers.

Thanks for the answers! I didn't think there was an amp as I couldn't find it.. I really gotta pull it in the garage and take a look at that gas smell issue, its a big pain because I can't really fill it up more than half a tank without it smelling.
I think I found a mounting point for some lights. Is it bad to mount lights upside down?
As promised, a few pics:

They are small camera phone pics for now. I am not currently driving the truck as it is still summer. Come winterish time, I'll have some more better quality pics, and maybe a few offroad posing pics lol..
Here is what I am storing in the winter:
