Get a rocket and strap her to the roof...
Nah, theres a lot of these threads around here, search. Theres no real cheap way to get hp out of these things...a header should be a start...or you could re-gear

Everything is going to be more expensive with a 3vze. I would start with headers although, don't be cheap. It is expensive now but you get what you pay for.

If you have a dog you always can get it to pull the sled. Might not be horsepower but it will be faster LMAO.

If you do headers, and have a high mileage cat, its probably worth just replacing the entire exhaust. Find a good exhaust shop, pick a muffler, get a high flow cat, and a set of headers. I hear great things about downey's headers. I recommend the S&B intake, personally. They filter smaller particles than K&Ns do, and are still very high flow. About the same cost as the K&N intake. I have mine on my build thread in my signature. Unfortunately, nothing you do to the 3VZE will get you much power except a 3.4 liter swap, but things can be done to make performance somewhat better. These days, with everyone very careful on return on investment, you could easily dump 5 grand into a 3.0 liter and still be unhappy with the results. Take that cash and swap in the 3.4 liter, and you'll be forced to have a grin-ectamy.
