DIY'er 90k service?

Hi all,

So today i'm proud of myself as I swapped out my Air/Fuel sensor and my CEL went off!! Believe me when I say this is a major achievement for me My '02 4runner has 91k on her and does mainly highway and a little around town runs. I'm thinking of doing some of the recommended 90k service work myself. Air & fuel filter, fluids etc..
I've been reading about K&N filters...are they worth the money? If so where's a good place to get them? Have you guys any other hints/help for this amateur?

Thanks

Do you drive offroad much? If not I would keep buying factory Toyota filters. If you go offroad and need more filtering I would get a Trueflow filter.

At 90K, if you haven't already, I replace all the fluids (engine, transmission, diffs and t-case). They are all easy to do and don't require any special tools. It'll give you a chance to get under the vehicle and get to know it. Other items I would check would be the coolant and replace if it's old. Same with the power steering fluid. While you're working on everything rotate your tires. It'll give you a chance to check you brakes, wheel cylinders, axle seals and bearings and see if they need any TLC.

None of this work or inspecting needs anything too special and can be done in a day. If you find things that need attention pat yourself on the back, that you found it before it was too late, slap everything together then come back on here for advise if you need it.

Water pump, thermostat, timing belt (OEM is best) and tranny flush........
I had mine done at 88,000 and water pump was already seeping.

I don't use K&N (OEM only) others might disagree, but I go stock always.
