Red face Wires Melted by Exhaust need to replace, is 14 gauge wire the right size

my wires running near my exhaust melted they are currently electrical taped
to keep them from making my efi 15 amp fuse pop

i bought 14 gauge wire because the guy at home depot said that would be the correct size for a 15 amp fuse it was popping

but when i looked at the 4 wires i need to replace one looks bigger than 14 gauge

please reply so i can figure this out

hard to say without knowing where the wires run but you cannot go wrong splicing in the same gauge (or larger) wire as what's existing.

Are they the wires right under the drivers side?
If they are it is prolly your O2 heater wire that was blowing your fuse. It happened to me as well but my wire was rubbing the steering shaft. Is the wire you got stranded or solid core? Your gonna want to use stranded.

Yea the 4 wires , 2 go to the ecu and check connector, the other two , 1 is power goes to the injectors, ignitor, ignition coil, vsv for egr,vsv for fpu,vsv for AS and IG2 at ignition switch and also check connector the othe wire is ground.

Use the same size wire ,just for peace of mind..
