n00b here, just inherited a 93 4runner.

the back glass will not go up or down.

when i press up on the switch, the car goes beep-beep-beep like a door is ajar.

(i guess i should mention that the back door ajar idiot light is always lit. but the door is not ajar.)

when i press down on the switch, nothing happens. (the window glass is currently up)

when i push my test light into the plugs at the switch, nothing lights up (no power)

when i push my test light into the plug at the window motor, nothing lights up.

i can't seem to locate a fuse panel for this. chilton manual says behind glove box? but there is nothing near there. the fuse panel in the engine compartment has nothing related to back window.

help! where are the fuses? why would the switch make the truck beep when i press up?

 

I'd start by checking to see if the rear wiper is parked correctly. If it isn't, the window may not move.

 

The fuse box behind the glove box is tucked up and to the right of the the glove box. That is also where your circuit opening relay is. However, since it beeps when you push the button that leads me to believe that the rear window relay (located behind the left rear plastic panel) is getting power, but the switch contacts in/on the back door are not making contact so the relay still thinks that the back door is open thus giving you the beeping.
