Thumbs down My engine is make LOUDER initial start-up noise under normal running conditions..HELP

It's a 96 4runner with a 3.4 V6... 230k miles.. could it be a bearing or belt?? I'm not sure why it would do this.. and my commute is 110miles a day!!

right in front of the engine by the fan, I'm thinking it might be the a/c clutch or a/c pulley... what other pulleys usually go out?? and it happens all the time... not a whine or a squeak... more like a blowing sound... like worn bearings?

If it's a blowing/roaring sound it could be the fan. I know mine is really noisy for the first few minutes after starting. Maybe the fan clutch is starting to go and the fan is getting noisier. If you want to narrow it down more remove the accessory belts one by one and see if the noise goes away.

Make sure your crankshaft pulley bolt hasn't loosed up and caused the pulley to slide outward.
