need a cat for my 98 2.7 4runner

My 98 has thrown a p0420 code, and only after 178k miles. Where can i get a decent cat to replace the OEM one? Its a 4 cyl, auto, 4wd, and has a stock exhaust manifold on it. Looking for a direct replacement. Gonna check the local stores first, but need to know if there is an awesome replacement that is a "must have". I'm sure the OEM one is way out of my price range.

The OEM cat is alot better, it has alot more crap in it that filters out your exhaust. Way better then an aftermarket one. If you have strict emitions (spelled that wrong) in your area, id go OEM

auto parts warehouse seems to have pretty good prices on the Magnaflow catalytic converters. I think you would want the 2.25" size.

I am shopping myself now for one for my V6. Be sure to find an outlet to pay you for your old one.

well, i tried to get one from the local parts place that my company deals with. They asked me if it was CA or FED emissions, and i asked which one that had in stock. They had the FED one, so i told them that was the one i had. Well, i spent 2 hours getting it out, to find out it was wrong. So now i'm back to square one. I'm gonna call the local dealers on monday, and hopefully get one by tuesday so i can go camping on thursday.

The only thing that sucks is that i might have broken the OEM o2 sensor getting the cat out. its tweaked and honestly should be replaced, but it may have to wait for another payday. I am getting a garage door opener on monday, so money is tight- but for a good reason. Just need to get the 4runner out of the garage so they can put it in.
