My new 3.0L Turbo DIESEL...........

So i bought this 2 weeks ago, its a 95 yota 4runner 3.0L turbo diesel, i bought it with a bit of work to be done, he had crashed it on the front left so needed new headlight, the bumper and valance, the side panel re-shaped and a new indicator, it also need some drop links as bushings had worn thru, he was saying he had terrible trouble with all the electrics, and i needed to finish commercialising the back of it as it was on foreign plates so needed to finish that to pay cheap import duty, and the tailgate window was stuck closed and lastly it needed a new front right tyre ( had a general on it so needed a BFG 325/50 15...so firstly i got 2 new batterys for it ( he only had one in it ) and all the elec problems were gone..happy days, then placed the order for all the crash damaged parts, cost me quite a bit but worth every penny and instead of getting 2 new orange bumper indicator i got 2 x clear ones, then i chequer plated the back of it and got the import duty paid, then got the tyre sorted, the a new motor and reg in the tailgate and thats fixed, then all my parts arrived in so had a fun afternoon fitting all them, so now im just awaiting to get my rear droplinks from 4crawler and my new tail lights, then i'll be fitting 2 bucket seats into it and sorting out something with the induction system, maybe a cone filter or a mod of some sort, so heres some pics, any reccomendations for some mods to this im all ears

You could go around the world in that thing. Will it idle up a grade? How many kilometers do you think you could travel on a full tank?

are those red lenses that you are looking for brake lights??

on second gen 4Runners here in the states (with a swingout tire carrier) ours are clear... they are the reverse light covers...

if you want a set, PM DeathCougar on here (hes a mod)... he works for a toyota recycler here in Washington state called Nix99 and can probably get you just about everything...

Wow those tires are wide, 325/50R15 = 27.8 x 12.7 R15.

Sweet 4runner tho, i really wish I had that diesel motor.

So they are. 325/60/15 = 30.4x12.8/15

Pretty wide for a 30'' tire. Looks good tho. $240 USD? wow, thats crazy. 240 will get you a 35'' or bigger.

that red light on the Surf's is for the factory fog lights, because when you have a thick fog you turn off your headlights (ie also tail lights/parking lights) and turn on your fogs, well then the people behind you cant see you, so Toyota put a red light on the tail gate to solve the problem, now when you have factory fogs, that red light should come on. they used to put reflectors on the bumper.

"what do you mean when you say idle up a grade?? havent actually tested mpg yet, must do that soon"

When you have the transmission in a forward gear, at idle, does it move forward? And if it does, will it move forward, at idle, up a small incline/hill?

In the off pavement world of the American Southwest desert, I would rather have a diesel powered 2runner (2nd generation) than a gasoline powered Range Rover.

Gasoline powered 2runner getting the job done in the land where diesel is king.
