Spectre filter box, possible snorkle use?

http://www.spectreperformance.com/#CATALOG.9831

What I'm looking at is the 4" in line filter box. I think I can hook it up to the Supra thingy and then make a penetration through the inner fender and run a snorkle made of exhaust tubing out of the passengers side.

Thoughts?

Some reason I think we're thinking the same on things...Just the other day I was wondering how to get a snorkel working with a cone type filer???

I'm guessing you take the screws off the one end and put the filter in and the open end they are showing heads out to the snorkel? Right???

That's what it looks like to me also. It's just been impossible to find a good inline filter for this thing and I don't want to mount it on top of the snorkle for fear that some dill hole would steal it.

Dill hole!!!That's funny, I have not heard that since high school...

I didn't want mount it on the top for fear it would not work well when it rained...I also thought it would catch too much dirt being up there...

Yeah I picked that one up in high school also, almost 20 years ago now.

I was thinking of something like this only on the passengers side since I've done the battery swap.

I can get exhaust pipe pretty cheap and have a welder buddy that can to the burning.

No, but seriously, I'm planning on doing a similar thing while still utilizing a cone filter inside a box with the "snorkel" running off the passenger side.

For really, Junkers, we need to start hanging out or stop thinking alike!

LOL!!!

later on down the road, I may consider a snorkel, but I really don't plan on doing any deep water crossing's any time soon, lol

of coarse, with this weather we've been having this time of the year in Florida, I might NEED a snorkel soon to drive out of my neighborhood lol

I'm not doing this for water crossings. Hell I'm in New Mexico, this state has more wet-backs than water......

I want to run a snorkle so I can stop pulling hot air out of the engine compartment and get some cooler air from outside. And when I get back to Texas where there is water available I will be prepared.

If yenz were a bit closer we'd be sitting having a cold one pondering the problems of the world...well not really but our rigs would have more done to them!!

I have to save up some cash and time. I really wanna do the battery swap and then run the snorkel up the passenger. I have been wondering how the heck to get the air filter, now I know.

Junkers you da man!!!

Old thread, I know, but who was running this set up? I like the design and was wanting some updates on its performance. This thread was referenced in this one : https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...norkel-194369/

so I'm doing a little research.
