Newbie has some ??? on lifting
Hi everyone,
I am an experienced mechanic and have done a lot of work on my 95 t100 extended cab 4X4 manual with the 3.4L. The one area where I haven't done anything is the suspension. I just got some new KYB gas shocks on her and I would really like to lift it a bit. I don't want anything too intense just maybe 2-3 inches for a little more clearance while off roading. What is the best way to go about this without spending a ton of cash (I'm a college student so it goes without saying that i'm not looking to spend much). Can I adjust the torsion bars easily? What about body spacers, is that a good way to go? Any ideas would be appreciated.

FYI, Your front suspension is the same as the 86-95 Trucks and 4Runners, So you should deff do some searching in there for lift and things..
But since im board.

FYI, your probably dont want to adjust them more then 1.5 " as your truck will ride harsher and you will feel every little bump, not to mention if you have ADD you could tear a boot.

I'm already rolling on 35s and I think thats about as big as this truck will fit without lifting it. They are on their last leg though so thats why I'm thinking about doing this now so that I could possibly upsize when I get new ones. Thanks a lot Scuba, thats a really good pic of the whole thing and definitely a good piece of info to know. t100 parts are harder to find than stuff for the trucks and 4runners.

35s?
Can you post a pic of your T100 with 35s on her? I have already changed the torsion bars out for some heavier ones from Downey offroad. At least 1.5 with out effecting the ride but I'm ride on 31s. i was think 33s would be tight.

If you're going to do a suspension lift, you're going to need longer shocks. The stock length shocks will be stretched to the max when you add a lift and/or larger tires. Breakage will be imminent.
If you add a body lift, the shock mounts don't change and you can run regular shocks.
Good luck finding longer shocks for a lifted T100. I've been in the hunt for over a year and I still haven't found anything available other than the Rancho 5000's, which based on my previous experience with them, are not a good shock for the money. I am discussing with one manufacturer the availability of a shock for the T100 with a 2" lift. Still waiting to hear for certain whether they have anything or not....
