Hi all, this is my first post here, and I did try to search for information before posting this question. I would like to find out if it would be possible to replace the entire drive train in a 1995 Toyota 4WD pickup, so as to ungrade it to a 3.4 liter engine, coupled to a manual 5-speed gearbox and transfer case.

The 22R engine is a reliable workhorse motor, but I would like more acceleration and torque, but don't really want to switch to a Tacoma. Is there anyone out there who has replaced the drive train in a 3rd gen (1995) pickup ? I sure would be glad to hear how difficult this swap might be.
