I need to replace my cargo net and the hooks and talked with the dealer's p&s shop but they have no idea if the 96 came with a net (which i then said - if i am trying to replace it what do you think the answer is?). the only thing found is this cargo net kit - does anyone have an idea what is in it? it is only $5 so I highly doubt the net is included.

I didn't know 4Runners came with cargo nets. Could you post a pic of what you're talking about? The only one I've ever seen is this one:

The number you posted is just the tabs/clips which the net hook onto. The clips should be in the 89990 part, assuming by the description here;

i don't have the net or hooks anymore so can't post the picture. the net could have came with the vehicle when it was originally purchased or added by the previous owner.
