I was waiting on my headers and my cams and heads so i figured id make it look nice. What do you guys think?

i just sanded and polished. i have adremel multimax and that helped a lot for the tight spots, i stil coulda made use of a reg dremel also. i just used 100 grit to start and then 150, 240 and then green scotch brite then red scotch brite and then i just used white scotch brite with some mothers aluminum mag posh and thats it. i prob put like 15 ish hours into it lol. i was always tired of having that dirty thing on top of my engine. this prob could be done with it installed also

just a random though... you know what would make it "pop" even more? get some good paint and a fine tipped brush, and paint the top of the "TOYOTA" lattering, with a color of your choise (black maybe )

I was just thinking the same thing except strip the polish residue off paint the lettering black on top with red on the raised edges then a good coat of clear. Finally wax/buff to high shine...
I've been planning to polish my intake too but I have'nt got to it yet... I'm so ashamed... [hiding face]

Whatcha mean polish residue? Its just aluminum...yeah it was a lot of work haha and I wanted something original

 

You said you used some Mother's Aluminum Wax/Polish as a final step. If you are going to paint you need to strip the wax off or else the paint won't stick.

 

I polished mine up like that about 4 years ago; it will oxidize & look like ess again in a few months...

I put all my parts back in dirty when I rebuilt my engine. 20k miles later its dirty

Haha yeah I know it will oxidize but now that its smooth it will be easy to touch up when it does. Yea I cleaned it off with acetone. I used to work at a semiconductor machine shop in the chem area and I could probably have it anodized by one of my buds there.....then maybe die it black or gray. It wouldn't oxidize then lol

 

Tnrabbit- do you have any pics of urs before and after it oxidized? I wonder if u could put on a clear anamel or anything.....
