Stock '93 on 33/10.5 BFG any others?

Hey Fellas. Just put some 33/10.5/r15 BFG All-Terrains on my 4runner. The only mod I have is a 1 in. leveling spacer in the rear coil springs but other thatn that the suspention is stock. I also took it wheelin and was suprised when I had NO rub. Here are some pics. I also wanted to see any other 4runners out there that did the same thing.

Haha really? I have searched forums and have only seen a few. Well I feel dumb I would think people would do it more because of how well it works.

More don't do it because it drops your mileage to below crappy and you power goes further down the toilet....

Well I noticed a bit of a drop in mileage but my power wasn't too bad. To be honest it felt almost the same as before.

If you have manual transmission and 4.56 it is OK - not great, not horrible. Certainly livable at lower elevations. 4.88 is much better, here at altitude, I wish I had 5.29, but it's not too bad. The way I look at it, if you need taller tires because you 'wheel, then you need lockers anyway and may as well do gears while you're at it. Not without considerable trimming. To truly fit them without rubbing, you're looking at a ~2" coilover lift and a 1" body lift.

Agree 100% I got the tires for $180 for all four so they were a steal. I dont see how a lift will increase my power. I would like to get a rear elocker next but they are dang expensive.

Almost everyone who lifts their vehicle is doing it to clear bigger tires. To be running 33" tires on a stock 2gen 4Runner with no rub amazes me. I rub my 31's sometimes off-road. 33's would require some trimming/hammering unless you're running some magical offset?

Well the older 4runners/trucks have a ton of space to fill. What year is your vehicle?

haha oops after I wrote that I saw you also have a '93 and Im surprised you rub with only 31s. Before when i was wheelin 31s I NEVER rubbed at all!

First, the way most people lift doesn't actually allow them to fit larger tires since the bumpstops are still in the smae place.

I will agree the backspacing is key, but not "magical" - it's stock.

To "mall crawl" with larger tires it does. I'm guessing you have an older 4Runner? No way you would be doing any kind of wheeling on a stock 2gen with 33's and no rubbing.....without trimming/hammering of course.

Dude, can you read? Obviously you have an aftermarket bumper and I'm suuuuure you've trimmed the pisss out of it to get those to turn without rubbing on the trails. Jesus, why do you have to argue about something so dumb? I made it pretty clear that a "STOCK" 4Runner isn't going to clear 33's WITHOUT rubbing. Your 4Runner is obviously NOT stock.
