horn beeps only when turning....worn contacts

I've read a few other posts that describe this problem. The horn only beeps when I turn a corner, and then only at a certain arc of the turn. Others have identified this as worn contacts. I pulled my steering wheel, brushed of the brass parts but it didn't help. Someone described a springy pin somewhere so I thought I post some pics about what I've opened up before I dig into anything further. So, I've got the steering wheel off. Whats my next step to replacing the contacts? (also, thanks for the yotatech member that suggested keeping the nut on while wreching on the steering wheel..brilliant

I cut a piece of Gasket Material (cardboard) to fit underneath the brass contact ring. The gasket filled the space of worn brush contact. Since the brush on the steering shaft side was worn down...

I have had a working horn ever since..

Interesting.......That might have to do until I decide to pick up a new contact pin. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. Any idea about removing the pin?
