Hi all, Im needing to replace a hose on my 91 22re that goes from a nipple by the thermostat down to the throttle body. Its a formed 3/8" hose, and neither I nor my parts people can figure out what its called so that we can order it. If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful. Thanks.

 

Idle air control / auxillary air valve coolant hose. There are two hoses to that valve, one from the thermostat area, one to the pipe that leads to the front timing cover.

 

hmmm, I'm sure there's a technical name for it...

I just call it the idle-air control valve hose, one of 2 anyway; we'll call it the upper just for kicks

mine blew out on my way home from work one way, and I fixed it on the side of the road with some transmission cooler line, 3/8" if I'm not mistaken, although it MAY have been smaller... I can't remember...

is it #2 or #3 water bypass hose maybe.

TOYOTA # 16264-35030 (IAC valve to thermostat housing - $42.41).
I hate to break it to you but you will probably only find this hose at the dealership.

 

Awesome, thanks a lot guys. I've got a length of 3/8 hose to get me through for now, but Im hoping to get to a dealership and get one ordered soon.
