parts compatability 88 to 86 22re

parts compatability 88 to 86 22re
i was curious will an 88 idle air control and fuel injectors work on an 86 22re? i am doing some trouble shooting to rule out parts for my ruff idle problem

I just looked up the injectors on kragen auto parts and it looks like the 88 injectors are different than the 85-87 22re .
I dont know whats different but thats what the auto parts website states.

The injectors have different style plugs on the harness. My 86 and 88 have the same idle air. Before swapping parts, spray some carb cleaner down the intake gasket and the injector seals to rule out for ruff idle.

thanks for the info. maybe you can help on start up my #1 cylinder is dead but after reving the engine to about 3000 rpm it starts running again and the idle smothes out but still wont idle below 900 rpm
