Installing a new bed

Does anyone know any tricks to make installing the bed easier? It seems difficult to align the bolts and not lose the donuts.I just have a couple buds helping out. Also,I just bought a used 4x2 bed and they look identical to 4x4.Toyota apparently says they are the same but I read a couple answers to threads and they say they are different.I have a 1991 4x4.Are they the same? Thanks all.

The beds are mostly the same, the 4x2 doesnt quite have a fender flare as much as a 4x4 bed...but other then that your set..

other then that Id say take it slow and you wont lose those little donut washers, idk what their called..just lift it up a bit where one isnt inline and the slip that bolt in and continue on the rest..

Some are the same some are different (Some 2wd beds had the lip on the outside)

Get the bed put on and then add the donuts, just have one of your buds lift up on it a little, you throw the donut in, throw the bolt in and move on to the next one

I just finished putting the bed on and it was really easy. For some reason I did'nt realize you put the bolts in after the bed is placed.Duh!!Anyway I measured the 4x2 bed against a 4x4 bed and the wheel wells and flare are identical. The only difference is the 4x4 has different components on it for mudflaps,etc...Anyway,thanks for all the replies.
