Goler Gulch/ The Narrows 5-9-09

Had the camera on, interesting picture moment.

I cant for the life of me remember the name of this camp, Jonny, you remember?

Crazy ass!

My friend Mikes 4Runner, still trying to get him on here.

Left to right- Johnnyboy's 4Runner (90, 3.4), Mikes 4Runner (87, 22RE), and my beauty (94, 3.0).

It made for a great weekend, good BBQ, great people. Let me tell you, Johnny can drive, every "bad" spot we came across he rolled through it like nothing. I lost a mirror, Mikes engine has a new found rattle, and as far as i know, Johnny didnt have any issues. Next trip will more than likely be John Bull on the north east side of fawnskin. I will make sure to post at least a month in advance for that one. Barker Ranch would be a great day trip, but, rumor has it that some idiot burned it down. well, hope you guys and gals enjoy the pics, i got these few pics and a lot of video, i will post it up somewhere and drop the link in a new thread, but for now, its bed time.

thats crap dude. I went there once as a little kid. I'm 27 now, but remember it greatly. My dad is a highway patrolman, we went out there with a bunch of his fellow officers and a few of their veteran military friends. Everybody brought legal/illegal firearms, we rode in old military jeeps, first time i ever drove off road, first time i ever fired a weapon. I guess in the end all we have is memories.

On another note, LETS GO RE-BUILD!!!

Why? I grew up in fawnskin, John Bull is just a play date for me. We were up the a while back, i will post up pics on my lunch. My parents still live up there, Free accomodations, fire pit, lake view, and my dad on the grill, cant beat it. But, I have never had an issue running that trail, a couple of my friends up in fawnskin have a 03 tundra with a 6 inch and 35's (trimmed fenders) and his wife has a 96ish taco (edit:not a 96, front end is the same as yours, and same paint color too), 3 inch body lift with 32's, they run it with just those mods. But i understand why a flatlander would need a locker

here is a couple, the camera guy sucked, so these are the only ones that arent crap. I will get a hold of the lady who brought the red jeep, she took a bunch of pics with some huge camera, these ones came out of hers. Bear in mind, i am not locked, the chevy isnt locked, the red jeep had front and rear air lockers, not sure of brand, but the compressor was not not functional, the green jeep was locked in the rear, but he states he did not use the locker at all. the only time we used his winch was to pull out an f150 that was blocking the road 20-30 feet up from Wilbur's grave.

Now, i do admit, it would be very nice to have a locker, but for the type of wheeling i do, and the driving skills i possess, it is not needed at the moment, its not like im out running king of the hammers.

You live in my childhood-stomping grounds hometown. Very cool to see someone from my neck of the woods. The outskirts alone is a wheeler's paradise. Have you ventured behind Cerro Coso college..you know that steep rutted rocky hill climb where you need a locker? lol Or past the gate at the "end" of Sand Canyon? It's possible. I really miss that place. Or all trails beyond Short canyon -behind Brady's? I lived on Leliter Rd. for 7 of my younger years.
Ever party at the Butt Crack?

Thats cool, small world. Everyone talks about lockers, the hill climb you are talking about, right after the first left curve, its nasty still, but we never needed a locker. Matter of fact, that whole area behind the college all the way back to 395 is all open area. used to be closed except for the roads, but now you can blaze across the desert, it kinda cool still. we mapped out over 200 miles on my buddys gps back there. In the big triangle, 395-178-trona road. i got pulled over back there, we ended up on echo range's property. get out here and lets do some wheelin'! By the way, just to see if we went to high school together or something, whats your name?

Colorado camp sticks out in my mind, although I'm not certain that's the name. Sorry, man.

Oh, yeah...that was near the rosin mine. Ok, I don't remember the name of that camp then. Rosin's easy for me to remember, it's the chalk pitchers use.

Cave pic was pretty cool. i have to wait for mike to get back in town to ask him the name. oh, almost forgot, big bear on the 3-6 of july. parents are out of town, left us the house, so, we are all heading up there to do some wheeling (including some local only trails, dont ask, just follow). Have a buddy out in baldwin lake with a mini rock garden and a small mud pit. Possibly play up in moonloaf. we will see. recovery is available if someone screws up bad. its basically all covered exept food and beer. let me know if you are down.
