SAS and engine swap in a daily driver legal Q's

I will hopefully get started on my build up in the next couple of weeks, which includes an SAS and a 3.0 to chevy 4.3 swap. Like the title says this truck will still be my daily driver, so I want to make sure that I can keep this truck street able. I read online the other day that any lift that isn't a bolt on kit has to be inspected to make it street legal. Has anybody heard this, or does it go in the bogus junk you read on the internet catagory? Is there anybody that daily drives an SAS'd truck especialyl in WA?

I was also woundering what I need to do to get the engine legal. Will I need that to get inpected, because the vin will no longer match the truck. or do I just need it to pass smog. From what I understand as of now, if the engine is the same year, or newe than the truck, and all the smog equipment is used then it should be good to go, but I am really hoping for some more info on this, or maybe somebody that has already done it.

Thanks in advance that would ruin my day pretty quick to finally get to build it just to have to sell it for something I can drive to work on monday

Call your local DMV office and ask. The engine swap should be OK, it varies state to state. I've never heard of the lift issue, but then again I'm in AL.
