What Brand is good for Ball Joints
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what a good brand will be for ball joints. I have the OEM's going out on me after 18 years and 208k. I would like to change them out and not have to deal with them again. I know Moog is good stuff, anybody running Mcquay-Norris? I can get them for almost half the price of Moog but is it worth it?

Trust me, SAS would be so awesome but unfortunately that probably won't happen for me anytime soon cause of money. Speaking of which it would be great to get OEM balljoints but I don't even want to think how much those would cost compared to Moog's.

Actually the OEM from 1sttoyotaparts.com are $50, and the Moogs from rockauto.com are $50.
If yer a gamblin' man, I bought a Beck/Arnley pitman from rockauto a couple years ago and it was an OEM Sankei - identical to the one sold by the dealer, right down to the 555 on the casting, for MUCH less than 1sttoyotaparts wanted: the Beck/Arnley ball joints also look identical to the OEMs, judging by the pictures, and the lowers are $29 and the uppers $40. However, there's no guarantee with Beck/Arnley: some parts are OEM, some are not OEM but are comparable quality, and some are inferior. If you get the ball joints and they don't match the pictures, rockauto would probably take them back.

Just get the lifetime warranty Napa ones. Greasable, good quality, and if they ever wear out you get new ones for free.
I should add I cheaped out and got the 1 year warranty ones from Napa cause they were half the price, but they work fine.

Sort of off topic, but close.
What the heck changed on 4/1/89 with the lower ball joint? I have an '89 Runner, and have seen the date code split for the ball joints.
Example:
MOOG: Before 4/1/89 : #K9587
After 4/1/89: #K9519
Thanks,
Mike
