Need help w/ Aisin Hubs
I just got through putting a new cv axle on my truck and have a question about the hubs. I have Aisen hubs and was wondering if it is possible to put to much grease in there when reassembling everything. Once I got it all put back together, I locked in the hub and spun the rotor to check everything out and it locked in like it was supposed to, but it doesn't seem to be unlocking when Iturn it back to "free".
Please help.....

how much should be used then? I literally packed it till it was full thinking it would spread through along the shaft of the cv axle and cover everything.
I am fixing to go back out there and clean some of it out, but need to know how much is good.
Thanks in advance

yeah, too much in the body of the hub will create a suction effect and keep the insides from releasing
when I did mine, I just packed the bearins, bolted all that in, then smeared a little on 2 or 3 fingers and just ran over the inner walls of the hub, and on the outside of the locking spline (for lack of the technical term
), and everything's been working well

Thanks to all. I got it figured out. I had not ever done a 4x4 service before and had a CV axle that was about to go. I went ahead and did the same as what all of you advised and it worked beautifully. One needed a little TLC, but it works better than ever now.
