Power brake trouble?

Power brake trouble?
I accidently posted a question in the 84 year section ooops. Here goes.Ive got an 82 toy with a small block chevy in it.Power brakes just dont seem to work that great.Requires more effort than my 87 four runner. The brakes are up to par everything works fine.I bought the truck this way so i have no idea what booster is in it.Id like to know if anyone has tried any swaps with good luck before i shelled out cash for something that is the same as i allready have. Thanks guys

you can get a dual diaphragm booster for a turbo 4runner, it will essentially double your braking power. you'll have to search but it's been talked about before.
but i'd start with the usual parts that may be suspect to bad braking... pads, rotors, old lines, etc.

Turbo power booster
Thanks Al,turbo 4 runner booster sounds good to me,my brakes are fine just needs a bit less pressure i think to depress them.I like my four runners brakes wich are essentially the same system,i think the v8 is robbing my vacuum like one reply i got.But im going to check that turbo setup if i can find one. Thanks again....CJ

yep: I posted this one in your other thread...Al is correct--
A dual Diaphragm brake booster out of a 86-87 turbo truck and T-100's will bolt right in:
The brake booster on 1st gen Trucks is pretty dang small and the brakes suck to begin with and throw bigger tires on there you are stressing a system designs for 225/75/15's. I saw this thread over on Pirate and thought that I would pass it on, relatively cheap and easy upgrade.. Thanks to drsmash for finding a great way to improve some brake systems that are getting old and tired

part # at napa: both 2 and 4 wheel 532460
the newer booster is a dual diaphram so it should improve braking dramatically.

Booster out of a 86-87 turbo model will bolt right into a 1st gen with NO MODS! pure bolt in. I have eldo calipers in back with v6 calipers in front and can lockup all 4 38"swampers on the pavement! Steering clears with no mods to the booster. Just remove the old booster and spacer take off a small spacer that has the gaskets on it and put it on the turbo booster thats it!
