pwr door locks got me stumped

Here goes,

About 4 years ago i had my truck completely refinished. Basic color change, white too black I did alot of the work myself at a friends body shop. I removed the doors, the bed ect.

Ever since doing this project my power windows have hardly worked and the power door locks have been nonfunctional. I could get the windows to work by pressing the button and wiggling it a little. They worked perfect before the paint job.

This week i decided to fix the dang thing. Removed the door panels and pulled the control boxes out. I took narrow cut sand paper and cleaned up all the contacts. Walla the power windows work perfect again but still no locks. I dissembled the control box again and put a ohm meter on and found that they are making good connections so its not the control box. When installed and have power going throu i get 0 voltage at door lock the switch.

Im stumped now, Ive done all i know of. Is there any other fuses for the door locks that i may be missing? Maybe a inline fuse somewhere.

Suggestions please, O btw i did test the breaker too

state your truck year and model_

98 tacoma?

I will venture a guess that the ignition cylinder thinks your key is still in there. Therefore it won't let you lock your keys in the truck.

Don't go ripping stuff up based on my Monday morning quarterbacking of this.

I really think it is a ground. Seems too coincidental you got all new paint and now something electrical is not functional-therefore a ground got painted...not necessarily at the door itself.

Ok so you are getting 0V at the switch in the armrest or the switch on the lock itself?

They may have got paint in the plug connections on the lock motor, I suggest you pull the plug and get in there with some contact cleaner and so on... if it works after this put a good amt. of dielectric grease on the plug and it should be fixed forever...

You may also have a loose wire in the plug loom when it is out of the tight arm rest it works fine but when you bunch it up in the confines of the 'rest it comes just free enough to not make contact.

I feel your irritations my problem just now is a bad "unlock" contact on the drivers side lock switch...
