While trying to figure out why my A/C wasn't working...

I discovered this:

A few weeks ago I took the fan out and pulled just as much crap out of it. When I took the heads off I also found the same thing under the intake manifolds. Crazy how much stuff gets stuck in there.

My A/C was working fine and then all of the sudden it quit. All signs point to the expansion valve so I'm replacing that and the drier, then putting a heavy vac on the system and charging it again. I'm getting pretty good at fixing A/C systems these days.

Looks like a mouse made a home in your cab or something.

How are you putting a vac on your system?

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't find any rats and nothing is chewed up?

I bought a manifold gauge set with a vac pump. I figured as many times as I've had to service an A/C system I might as well just buy the tools. It was only about $100 which is probably what a shop would charge per visit.

Sure, it's going to be a long drive for you though.

I put that epoxy coating on when I bought the house. Cost me about $100 for everything to do it with including the epoxy from Home Depot. I didn't put a clear coat on it and now I wish I would have.

It's been decent here so far and today is supposed to be cooler. I'm just making sure I'm ready for the super heat.
